The $36 million Bunnings Warehouse opening in Pimpama on Friday is the first in Queensland to be fitted with a new kitchen design centre featuring nine concepts.
The store, located at 2 Yawalpah Rd in Pimpama, will also have a new artificial plant and flower range, a new-look trade desk with serve check-outs for trade customers and a door selector display.
More than 140 locals have been employed at the 14,500m2 store that includes a fully enclosed timber trade drive through with 24 indoor car spaces, an outdoor nursery, cafe, and parking for some 380 cars.
Complex manager Brendan O’Boyle, who has been a part of the Bunnings team for 10 years, said as part of the opening the team had already provided support to local community groups with product donations.
“So far, we’ve provided a gazebo, Esky and trestle tables to Ormeau Scouts Group to support their fundraising events and we’ve donated new bench seats, a blower vacuum and a marquee to Goodstart Early Learning Pimpama,” he said.
“We have also donated tools, a gazebo and Esky kegs to the Coomera and Districts Soccer Club to assist with their sporting events and provided each community group with additional gift cards to purchase other goods they might need.
“Once we’re able to get back out into the community, we’ll be supporting even more community groups with additional donations and hands-on projects.”
